Cruise Crew Members Share Cabin and Onboard Activity Tips
Experienced ship workers recommend midship cabins, basic medicines and making time for entertainment and activities included in the fare.

Jaye, described as a cruise director for four years, advised travelers concerned about motion sickness to choose a cabin near the middle of the ship. Jaye also recommended packing a medicine bag with essentials such as seasickness pills so they remain readily available.
For passengers who experience claustrophobia, Jaye suggested considering a balcony cabin, which offers access to fresh air and views of the sea. Gaby, who was described as having worked as a shipboard singer for five years, said travelers without balconies can still take in the surroundings from pool decks and other outdoor deck areas.
Crew members also encouraged passengers to explore onboard programming. Ty, described as a cruise ship performer for two years, said shows are among the most underrated offerings at sea. Jake, who was described as a cruise ship singer for four years, recommended trying classes, wine tastings and other available activities, particularly when participation is already covered by the cruise fare.
