Princess Cruises announced the Melbourne home base as the ship visited Port Phillip Bay during a 28-day circumnavigation of Australia.

Princess Cruises has announced that Crown Princess will be based in Melbourne for the 2028/29 cruise season, establishing the ship in the Victorian capital for that deployment period.
Crown Princess entered Port Phillip Bay while sailing a 28-day circumnavigation voyage around Australia. Captain Petar Lesic was in command as the ship arrived in the bay during the itinerary.
The cruise line planned to announce its complete deployment schedule for the 2028/29 season on October 28, when further details of the program were due to be revealed.
Princess Cruises was also expected to maintain a substantial presence in Sydney during the same season. According to provisional plans cited in the report, Grand Princess, Emerald Princess and Royal Princess were among the ships expected to visit Sydney. Those plans were described as provisional rather than part of the full deployment announcement.
