Cordelia Sky enters Turkish shipyard ahead of Mumbai debut
Cordelia Cruises shifted the 2,000-passenger ship’s refit from Dubai to Turkey, where work includes maintenance and interior changes.

Cordelia Sky entered dry dock at Beşiktaş Shipyard’s Yalova facility on September 13 ahead of its planned October 23 debut from Mumbai. The former Norwegian Sky is undergoing routine maintenance and a partial conversion, including interior modifications intended for the Indian market.
Cordelia Cruises had initially planned to complete the work at Drydocks World in Dubai but abandoned that arrangement amid regional tensions. The company said the switch created logistical challenges, while Beşiktaş Shipyard’s previous work on cruise ships provided an advantage during the project.
Norwegian Cruise Line canceled the vessel’s planned 19-night farewell cruise from Piraeus to Muscat in August. In a notice to booked passengers, the cruise line attributed the decision to regional uncertainty, saying it lacked sufficient confidence that it could safely provide the anticipated experience.
The ship instead concluded its Norwegian Cruise Line service with a nine-day Mediterranean voyage from Barcelona to Piraeus, ending September 9. Cordelia Cruises subsequently took delivery in the Mediterranean before the vessel traveled to Turkey for its refit.
Following refurbishment, Cordelia Sky is scheduled to offer two- to five-night cruises from Mumbai, including itineraries visiting Goa and Lakshadweep.
