Consumer Cellular and Airalo launch travel eSIM portal for cruise passengers
The service offers mobile data plans covering more than 200 destinations, with a promotional discount available through October 2026.

Consumer Cellular and Airalo have introduced a co-branded portal where Consumer Cellular subscribers can browse and activate Airalo travel eSIMs for international coverage in more than 200 destinations. Consumer Cellular has 4.5 million subscribers.
Travelers can select local, regional or global plans based on the countries and regions included in their cruise itineraries. According to the launch information, activation is completed on a compatible phone, without a physical SIM card, retail store visit or mailed delivery.
The companies are offering 15% off any eSIM package purchased through Oct. 31, 2026. The promotion is available to existing Consumer Cellular and Airalo customers as well as people who do not currently use either company.
Airalo advises that eSIM data is most suitable for texting, navigation, email and light web browsing while passengers are ashore. Its guidance says cruise ship WiFi generally performs better for higher-demand activities such as streaming, video calls and large uploads.
