Coast Guard suspends search for Carnival Panorama passenger
Crews covered 1,707 square miles during a search for a 56-year-old man reported overboard off Mexico.

The U.S. Coast Guard said it suspended its search for a 56-year-old Carnival Panorama passenger who was reported overboard approximately 57 miles off the coast of Mexico. The search remains suspended pending new information.
Crews searched 1,707 square miles of ocean for more than 41 hours without finding Thomas.
A Carnival Cruise Line spokesperson said the male guest jumped overboard while the ship was traveling from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to Long Beach, California. Carnival said the ship began search and investigation procedures after learning that a guest was missing.
According to the cruise line, the response included a review of CCTV footage and notifications to the U.S. and Mexican Coast Guards. Carnival also said it was supporting the family traveling with the guest.
Gigler’s sister, Wendy Dowden, reportedly said she believed Thomas may have suffered a psychotic break before allegedly going overboard.
