Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding with Nor Cruises for a new cruise shipbuilding project. The plan covers two cruise ships and provides options for three additional vessels, based on an 84,000 DWT design.
Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding is also making progress on the construction of Adora Flora City, with its delivery and entry into service scheduled. The yard previously constructed Adora Magic City, which was described as China’s first domestically built large cruise ship.
Separately, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding signed an agreement with China Tourism Group covering two large cruise ships and an option for a third. The first vessel under that agreement is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2030.
