Celebrity Compass completes float out in Rotterdam
The first vessel for Celebrity River Cruises is scheduled to begin sailing in August 2027.

Celebrity Compass has completed its float out in Rotterdam, marking a construction milestone for Celebrity Cruises’ new river cruise brand. The multi-day operation began at the Zwijnenburg shipyard on 9 September, completing the vessel’s exterior construction and placing it in the water for the first time.
The ship then traveled 80 kilometres by river, reaching TeamCo Shipyard in Heusden on 12 September. Celebrity Cruises, part of Royal Caribbean Group, plans to launch Celebrity Compass in August 2027.
Planned features include open decks with 360-degree views, an infinity-edge plunge pool and cantilevered dining pods named the Magic Edge. The vessel will offer five stateroom categories, all with king-sized beds and private balconies.
Celebrity Seeker is also expected to enter service in 2027. Celebrity Wanderer, Celebrity Roamer and Celebrity Boundless are due to follow in 2028. The cruise line has additionally announced a commitment to 10 more ships, which would expand its European river fleet to 20 vessels by 2031.
