Celebration Key and CocoCay differ on pools, perks and expansion space
Carnival’s Celebration Key offers larger lagoon areas, while Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay features a separate waterpark and broader drink-package access.

A comparison of the cruise destinations estimates that Celebration Key’s current development spans about 48 acres, compared with roughly 57 acres of passenger-accessible public areas at CocoCay. Carnival has also reserved more than 150 acres for future expansion at Celebration Key, according to the report.
Pools are a major point of difference. CocoCay’s Oasis Lagoon covers 33,000 square feet. Celebration Key has two central lagoons totaling 265,000 square feet, the report says. CocoCay, meanwhile, offers the extra-cost Thrill Waterpark, which has 14 slides, including one that reaches 135 feet.
Food and package policies also vary. Each passenger at Celebration Key receives one meal from participating Island Eats menus, while further meals cost extra; some restaurants charge separately but may provide an Island Eats discount. Guests of both Carnival and Royal Caribbean can use their purchased internet packages at the companies’ respective private destinations. Carnival’s drink package does not apply at Celebration Key, however, while Royal Caribbean’s package works at CocoCay under the same terms as aboard the ship.
