Carnival Valor Briefly Lists on Mississippi River
Carnival Cruise Line said the ship continued normal operations after the August 17 incident near the end of a five-day cruise.

Carnival Valor briefly listed while traveling along the Mississippi River on August 17, according to Carnival Cruise Line. The company said the circumstances surrounding the vessel’s movement remained under review.
The incident occurred on the final night of a five-day round-trip voyage from New Orleans. Passengers attributed a sharp turn to a disabled cargo ship in the darkness, though Carnival had not confirmed that account.
Carnival said water from a swimming pool washed across part of an open deck during the movement. Crew members responded immediately, and several guests who requested medical assistance received it, according to the cruise line.
The company said vessel movements of this kind can occur during routine navigation. Carnival Valor continued operating normally following the incident, the cruise line added.
