Carnival Urges Arrival-Time Compliance at Manhattan Cruise Terminal
Carnival Venezia and Oceania Vista are scheduled to share Pier 88, with departures set one hour apart.
Carnival Cruise Line has asked passengers sailing from New York aboard Carnival Venezia to adhere to their pre-selected terminal arrival appointments. In a notice to guests, the company said passengers who reach the terminal before their assigned time might not be permitted to enter.
Carnival Venezia is scheduled to depart at 4 p.m. on the same day that Oceania Cruises’ Oceania Vista is set to sail at 5 p.m. Both ships are expected to use Pier 88 at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal.
According to the report, the terminal is operating with one of its two piers because Pier 90 has been out of service since the beginning of the year. That arrangement leaves both vessels sharing Pier 88 and may result in increased foot traffic during embarkation.
Carnival has not indicated that the shared terminal operations will affect Carnival Venezia’s scheduled departure time. The cruise line framed its request for passengers to observe assigned arrival windows as part of managing embarkation operations.
