Carnival Tropicale to Sail From Galveston in 2028
Bookings have opened for Carnival Cruise Line’s fifth Excel-class ship, scheduled to begin Galveston departures on April 15, 2028.

Carnival Cruise Line has selected Galveston as the homeport for Carnival Tropicale following the ship’s planned delivery in 2028. The vessel is expected to carry more than 6,000 guests and a crew of slightly fewer than 2,000 people.
Carnival said the ship will offer four-, five-, six- and eight-day itineraries. Scheduled destinations include Celebration Key, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, Isla Tropicale, Puerta Maya, Progreso and Nassau.
Planned onboard attractions include a waterpark for all ages with six slides, family raft rides and a treehouse-themed adventure trail featuring an obstacle course. Dining options are set to include Hawaiian- and Asian-inspired dishes at Uku Lei Lei, Italian- and Greek-influenced fare at Fetaccine, and Emeril’s Coastal Seafood.
Bookings for Carnival Tropicale are now available. A review of booking options found a four-day Western Caribbean itinerary from Galveston listed at $519 and a six-day cruise at $589, with restrictions applying to those fares. The ship’s first cruise from Galveston is scheduled for April 15, 2028.
