Carnival stages first solar eclipse cruise aboard Carnival Legend
The cruise line also plans three eclipse-focused sailings in 2027 aboard Carnival Firenze, Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Miracle.

Carnival Cruise Line held its first solar eclipse cruise during an 11-day Carnival Journeys voyage aboard Carnival Legend. The ship departed Dover, England, on Aug. 9 for an itinerary featuring destinations in Spain, Portugal, Belgium and France.
On Aug. 12, guests viewed a total solar eclipse from the ship as Carnival Legend sailed through the path of totality. Carnival provided eclipse-viewing glasses to all guests and scheduled special programming, themed entertainment, beverage offerings and other activities during the voyage.
Carnival plans three additional solar eclipse cruises in 2027. Carnival Firenze will depart Buenos Aires on Feb. 2 for a 16-day Carnival Journeys sailing, visiting Rio de Janeiro, Maceio, Grenada, Martinique and St. Maarten. The ship is scheduled to be positioned for an annular solar eclipse on Feb. 6.
Carnival Sunshine will leave Barcelona on July 25 for a 10-day Mediterranean itinerary positioned for the Aug. 2 eclipse. Carnival Miracle will depart Dover on July 29 for an 11-day Carnival Journeys voyage that includes a dedicated eclipse-viewing day at sea.
