Carnival Rewards replaces VIFP loyalty program
The new four-tier structure divides rewards into spendable Points and status-setting Stars, with an extended first qualifying period.

Carnival replaced its VIFP loyalty program with Carnival Rewards on September 1. The updated program introduces four membership tiers and uses two separate currencies rather than a single measure for both rewards and status.
Under Carnival Rewards, Points are the spendable currency, while Stars determine a member’s status. The distinction separates the rewards members can use from the measure applied to their position within the program’s four-tier structure.
Members earn three Stars for every dollar spent, with gratuities included in the calculation. Carnival has set the inaugural qualifying window to continue through December 2028, giving members an extended initial period in which their eligible spending can generate status-setting Stars.
