Carnival Rewards replaces VIFP Club with new points and status system
The cruise line’s revamped loyalty program adds spending-based rewards, two-year status periods and four membership tiers.
Carnival launched Carnival Rewards on Tuesday, fully replacing its 14-year-old Carnival VIFP Club program. Under the new structure, members generally receive status for two years and must requalify to keep it.
According to Carnival’s program terms, members earn three Carnival Rewards points for each dollar spent on eligible purchases. Qualifying spending includes cruise fares, onboard drinks, specialty dining, spa services, shore excursions and gratuities.
Members can redeem points after they appear in their accounts for eligible extras aboard Carnival cruises. Points may also cover some or all of a future cruise. The number required for rewards will vary over time and by sailing under a dynamic pricing model.
A separate Stars system determines status. Members receive Red status when they enroll, while Gold requires 10,000 Stars, Platinum requires 50,000 and Diamond requires 100,000.
Members who held status in the former VIFP Club as of Aug. 31, 2026, will retain that level through Jan. 1, 2029. Carnival has also told former VIFP Club members who reached Diamond that they will keep Diamond status for life in Carnival Rewards.
