Carnival Rewards replaces cruise line’s VIFP loyalty program
The new program separates redeemable points from stars used to determine membership status.
Carnival Cruise Line has launched Carnival Rewards, replacing its Very Important Fun Person loyalty program. Under the new system, members receive three Carnival Rewards points for every $1 spent on eligible purchases. Those points can be redeemed for cruises and qualifying experiences onboard.
Status is tracked separately through stars. Members earn three status-qualifying stars per $1 spent on eligible purchases, along with one star for each casino point earned. The standard qualification window lasts two years, and members retain their earned status for two years.
The inaugural qualification period is longer than the standard window, running from Sept. 1 through Dec. 31, 2028. Members enter the program at Red status. Gold requires 10,000 stars, while Platinum is reached at 50,000 stars and Diamond at 100,000 stars.
Carnival said members of the former VIFP program who had already achieved Diamond status can retain that status for life.
