Carnival replaces VIFP loyalty program with Carnival Rewards
The updated program ties status to cruise activity and spending while retaining four membership tiers.

Carnival Cruise Line ended its Very Important Fun Person loyalty program on September 1, 2026, replacing the more than decade-old system with Carnival Rewards. Guests’ accrued cruise history was scheduled to transfer into the new program on that date, with their resulting status remaining valid through December 2028.
In January 2029, members are scheduled to receive a recalculated status based on their cruise and spending history. Under Carnival Rewards, passengers earn three stars for each dollar spent with Carnival, including purchases of activities, shore excursions, drinks, specialty dining and onboard spa services.
Carnival also retired the entry-level Blue tier. The remaining membership levels are Red, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Platinum members receive priority access to online check-in up to 16 days before sailing, along with priority services during embarkation, onboard and at debarkation.
Diamond members receive the same priority benefits as Platinum members, as well as retail concierge service and invitations to special events from the captain. Carnival’s milestone recognition program also provides benefits that vary by achievement level, including a points bonus, commemorative coin, onboard credit and other perks.
