Carnival Panorama passenger reported missing off Mexico
Carnival Cruise Line said ship personnel reviewed surveillance footage and alerted U.S. and Mexican authorities during the voyage to California.

Thomas Gigler, 56, was identified in a report as the missing Carnival Panorama passenger and a father of three from Southern California. He was reportedly traveling with his wife to celebrate their 15th anniversary when he disappeared on the final day of a seven-night cruise along the Baja peninsula. The report said his family alerted the crew after he went missing and that he had not been found.
Carnival Cruise Line said a male guest jumped overboard while the ship was sailing from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to Long Beach, California. According to the company, the crew began search and investigation procedures after being notified that a passenger was missing, including reviewing onboard surveillance footage and contacting the U.S. and Mexico Coast Guards.
Passenger Tommy McGraw said guests were directed to remain in their cabins for about two hours while searches took place. He said the captain later announced that a review of surveillance video showed a passenger had gone overboard, after which the ship resumed its journey toward California.
A Carnival spokesperson said the cruise line was providing support to the missing passenger’s family, who had been traveling with him.
