Carnival Panorama alters Mexican Riviera itinerary for Tropical Storm Simon
The ship dropped Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlán and added an Ensenada call after weather also disrupted its initial Cabo San Lucas visit.

Carnival Panorama revised an eight-night Mexican Riviera cruise because of Tropical Storm Simon, replacing scheduled calls at Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlán with a visit to Ensenada.
The ship departed Long Beach on October 10. According to a letter sent to guests, its first attempt to call at Cabo San Lucas was unsuccessful because conditions made water-shuttle operations unsafe. A second attempt succeeded on Wednesday, October 14. The ship also visited La Paz on Tuesday, according to published reporting.
The guest letter said Carnival-purchased excursions for Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlán would be automatically cancelled, with refunds credited to guests’ Sail and Sign accounts. Cabo San Lucas excursions were transferred to the Wednesday call.
Carnival Panorama was scheduled to visit Ensenada from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 17. Guests could reserve excursions through the Carnival Hub app or at the Carnival Adventures and Guest Services desks on Deck 3.
At 2 a.m. MST Thursday, the National Hurricane Center placed Simon about 270 miles south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas. The storm had sustained winds of 60 mph and was stationary.
