Carnival outlines cabin and size rules for mobility devices
The cruise line urges guests to disclose wheelchairs and scooters early and complete its Mobility Device Form.

Carnival Cruise Line strongly encourages travelers to report a wheelchair or scooter when booking, or as soon as they become aware of the need. The company directs affected guests to complete a Mobility Device Form.
Under Carnival’s policy reviewed on Sept. 19, 2026, devices used with standard or ambulatory-accessible staterooms must pass through an entry doorway measuring approximately 22 inches. They also must fold or collapse when stored so the guest can exit safely.
Carnival says guests traveling with scooters wider than 21 inches, or with multiple scooters in one cabin, must reserve a fully accessible stateroom with a wider doorway or rent a smaller suitable model. Scooters that do not fit will not be permitted aboard. The company also requires mobility devices to be stored safely inside the guest’s cabin rather than in corridors or public spaces. Some staterooms aboard Mardi Gras cannot accommodate a scooter.
Carnival identifies Scootaround as its preferred mobility-equipment vendor. According to the cruise line, that arrangement supports onboard delivery at U.S. homeports and selected homeports outside the United States. Its policy permits mobility devices powered by gel, dry-cell, absorbed-glass-mat or lithium-ion batteries.
