Carnival organizes 31 coastal cleanups across global ports
Shipboard and shoreside teams joined community partners to remove more than 5,000 pounds of waste and debris during September.

Carnival Cruise Line organized a series of coastal cleanups involving ship and shoreside employees and community partners in recognition of International Coastal Cleanup Day on Sept. 19.
During September, 377 team members from 29 ships and 111 shoreside employees took part alongside local partners in 31 beach and waterway cleanups. The events collected approximately 175 bags containing more than 5,000 pounds of trash, waste and debris.
Cleanup sites included the U.S. homeports of Galveston, Port Canaveral and Miami, along with locations in Alaska, the Caribbean, The Bahamas, Mexico, Greece, France and Australia. Carnival Glory was scheduled to conduct the final cleanup on Sept. 30, extending participation across the full fleet.
Local environmental organizations, port partners and community groups supported the initiative. It forms part of Carnival’s Our Sea Pledge program, which covers climate action, circular economy, sustainable tourism, biodiversity and conservation, and health, inclusion and belonging.
Carnival said its shipboard and shoreside cleanup activities collected more than 7,200 pounds of debris during 2026, including work conducted beyond the September initiative.
