Carnival opens Carnival Tropicale reservations ahead of 2028 debut
The fifth and final Excel-class ship is scheduled to begin sailing from Galveston with cruises ranging from four to eight days.

Carnival Cruise Line has opened reservations for Carnival Tropicale, its fifth and final Excel-class ship. The LNG-powered vessel is scheduled to begin sailing from Galveston on April 15, 2028. It will display the Star of Texas on its bow to recognize its connection to the Lone Star State.
Carnival says the ship will offer four-, five-, six- and eight-day itineraries visiting Celebration Key; RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay; Isla Tropicale; Puerta Maya; Progreso; and Nassau. Meyer Werft cut steel for Carnival Tropicale as bookings opened.
Planned features include Sunsation Point, a multi-deck family zone anchored by Carnival WaterWorks Ultra. The area will have six waterslides and splash areas for younger cruisers. Other activities are set to include Fairway 66 Mini Golf, sports courts, the Treehouse Adventure Trail and The Vault Retrocade.
Dining plans include Uku Lei Lei, featuring Hawaiian-inspired cuisine with Asian influences, and Fetaccine, combining Greek and Italian flavors. Emeril’s Coastal Seafood will offer seafood dishes inspired by America’s coastlines and was created in partnership with Carnival Chief Culinary Officer Emeril Lagasse.
