Carnival Opens Bookings for Carnival Tropicale’s 2028 Galveston Debut
The fifth Excel-class ship will sail Caribbean itineraries ranging from four to eight days.

Carnival Cruise Line has opened reservations for Carnival Tropicale, a new Excel-class ship scheduled to begin sailing from Galveston in 2028. The vessel, which will carry a Texas star on its bow, is the fifth ship in the cruise line’s Excel class.
As part of Carnival’s Paradise Collection, Carnival Tropicale will operate four-, five-, six- and eight-day Caribbean cruises. Scheduled destinations include Progreso and Nassau.
Carnival says the ship is being designed with families in mind. Planned attractions include a multilevel water park with six slides and two splash pads, along with a Route 66-inspired miniature golf course. An arcade will offer both classic and contemporary games.
Entertainment aboard the ship will draw inspiration from the golden age of show business. Dining plans include Emeril’s Coastal Seafood and another menu being developed through Carnival’s partnership with Chef Emeril Lagasse.
