Carnival Marks Fun-ternship Graduations in Three U.S. Port Cities
High school students in Long Beach, Baltimore and Norfolk completed the cruise line’s eight-week terminal operations program.
Carnival Cruise Line said it celebrated local high school students graduating from its Fun-ternship Program in Long Beach, Baltimore and Norfolk on Aug. 15, 2026. Participants received certificates of completion and joined members of the Carnival team for a celebratory lunch onboard.
The eight-week initiative returned for a second year and is designed to give high school students practical exposure to cruise terminal operations at six U.S. homeports, according to the cruise line. The program also introduces participants to potential careers in the travel and hospitality sectors while helping them develop workplace skills.
In Long Beach, students observed Carnival’s cruise operations at the Port of Long Beach. The experience offered participants a behind-the-scenes view of terminal activities as they built real-world skills and explored career opportunities connected with travel and hospitality.
