Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Adventure to Leave Australia in 2028
Carnival Cruise Line will continue year-round Australian operations with Carnival Splendor and Carnival Encounter.

Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Adventure will leave Australia in March 2028 under Carnival Cruise Line’s long-term global fleet planning.
Carnival Luminosa, which has operated seasonally from Brisbane since cruising restarted in 2022, will make its final voyage from Sydney on March 15, 2028. Carnival Adventure will depart Sydney on March 20, 2028, and will not return to Australia as previously planned.
Carnival Splendor will continue sailing year-round from Sydney, while Carnival Encounter will maintain year-round operations from Brisbane. Carnival said the ships’ 2028-29 program will be released in the coming weeks.
The deployment change follows the Australian Federal Government’s extension of the cruise industry’s ability to sail between Australian ports through the end of 2028. The government is continuing to develop a long-term licensing regime for cruising.
