Carnival launches spending-based rewards programme
Carnival Rewards introduces redeemable points, status-qualifying Stars and a separate sailing-day recognition scheme.

Carnival Cruise Line has launched Carnival Rewards, a loyalty programme through which guests can earn rewards from eligible cruise purchases and everyday spending. The programme uses two currencies: Carnival Rewards Points and Status Qualifying Stars.
According to Carnival, members earn three points and three Stars for every US$1 (R17,40) spent on eligible Carnival purchases. Qualifying spending includes cruises, spa treatments, shore excursions and gratuities. Points can be applied toward future cruises and eligible onboard experiences, while accumulated Stars determine a member’s loyalty tier.
Guests receive Red status when they enrol. Gold status requires 10 000 Stars, followed by Platinum at 50 000 Stars and Diamond at 100 000 Stars. Loyalty status is assessed over a four-year qualification period.
Carnival has also introduced a Milestone Recognition Programme based on the total number of days a guest has sailed with the cruise line. Recognition starts after 50 sailing days, with additional milestones reached at each subsequent 100-day interval.
