Carnival Jubilee adds more short Galveston cruises for 2028-29

The ship will emphasize four- and five-day Mexico itineraries while retaining several longer sailings.

Carnival Cruise Line plans to emphasize four- and five-day voyages aboard Carnival Jubilee from Galveston during the ship’s 2028-29 season. The itineraries will visit Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico, while four-day cruises will call only at Cozumel.

The announced schedule also includes a six-day voyage in October 2028 to Cozumel and Isla Tropicale, Roatan. Eight-day cruises to Jamaica and the Bahamas are scheduled for April.

A Carnival spokesperson said the shorter itineraries are intended to offer more vacation flexibility and appeal to first-time cruisers, busy families and travelers seeking brief getaways. The spokesperson also pointed to the experience available aboard the company’s newest Excel Class ship.

Royal Caribbean launched three- and four-day Utopia of the Seas sailings from Port Canaveral in 2024. Carnival entered the shorter-cruise market there the following year with four- and five-day voyages aboard Mardi Gras. Mariner of the Seas operates three- to five-day cruises from Texas, while Symphony of the Seas offers voyages lasting five to seven days.

The report also describes a fresh-wallets concept in which travelers who purchase drink packages and shore excursions months ahead may be more willing to spend aboard on luxury shopping, spa and wellness treatments, casinos, arcades and higher-end dining.
