Carnival Freedom returns after 35-day Marseille dry dock
The ship received a new whale tail funnel, a larger casino and updates to several onboard spaces.

Carnival Freedom resumed service on October 9 following 35 days in dry dock at Chantier Naval de Marseille in Marseille, France. The first sailing after the work was an eight-day Mediterranean itinerary departing from Barcelona, Spain.
That cruise was followed by a 13-day Carnival Journeys transatlantic voyage. The dry-dock project included installation of a new whale tail funnel and a redesign and expansion of the ship’s casino.
According to Carnival, the enlarged casino gained more than 100 additional gaming machines. The ship’s video arcade was refreshed, while its retail areas also received updates. Carnival said accessibility improvements were made throughout Carnival Freedom, although further details about those changes were not provided.
