Carnival Executive Janet Wygert Reflects on Nearly 40-Year Career
The sales and trade marketing leader discussed her path from college cruise work to a senior role supporting travel advisors.

Janet Wygert discussed her nearly four decades with Carnival Cruise Line during an episode of the Humans of Travel podcast, reflecting on the early experiences that helped shape her career.
While attending a Midwestern university, Wygert encountered the cruise industry when a cruise line recruited students to run children’s programming aboard ships during school breaks. That opportunity laid the groundwork for her later work in the sector.
After graduating from college, Wygert relocated to Miami and applied for a position with Carnival. She subsequently joined the cruise line’s inside sales team.
Wygert now serves as Carnival’s senior vice president of sales and trade marketing. In that position, she concentrates on strengthening relationships with travel advisors and developing approaches intended to help them grow their businesses. The podcast conversation also covered her life as a wife and mother and her interest in the Milwaukee Brewers.
