Carnival enforces 40-minute limit for unattended pool chairs
Crew members may remove belongings for safekeeping when loungers remain vacant beyond the stated time limit.
Carnival Cruise Line has confirmed that unattended pool chairs are subject to a 40-minute limit aboard its ships in Australia and other markets.
Under the policy published by the cruise line, crew members monitor sun loungers and place a sticker on chairs that appear to be unoccupied. If a chair remains vacant for 40 minutes, staff may remove the items left there and hold them for the guest’s safekeeping.
A Carnival spokesperson said the measure is designed to give all passengers an opportunity to use the pool areas.
Royal Caribbean also has a comparable approach. A company spokesperson previously said belongings left on an unattended chair may be removed after 30 minutes.
