Carnival Encounter passenger alleges illness after eating undercooked chicken
The guest also claimed onboard medical staff disclosed a $300 examination fee and warned of room confinement if treatment was declined.

A Carnival Encounter passenger alleged that they ate partially raw chicken on the first night of a cruise. According to the guest’s account, part of the chicken appeared cooked, while another portion was raw.
The passenger said they quickly felt unwell and notified galley staff, asking them to remove the chicken burgers because the problem might affect a batch. The cooks were apologetic, the guest said. According to the passenger, front-desk employees later documented the complaint and photographed the food.
The guest also alleged that a nurse disclosed a $300 charge for a medical examination only after the passenger declined to sign a form. The passenger further claimed medical staff said they would be confined to their room if they refused to pay for a doctor’s assessment.
The report states that the passenger remained sick during the trip and received treatment from a doctor after the Carnival Encounter sailing ended. The guest’s partner and seven-month-old child, who were also traveling, reportedly did not become ill.
