Carnival Corporation teams join coastal cleanup activities worldwide

Employees, crew members, families and community partners collected waste at ports and destinations during the 41st International Coastal Cleanup Day.

Carnival Corporation marked the 41st International Coastal Cleanup Day with volunteer events in locations including Seattle, Miami, Cozumel and the Netherlands. Shipboard and shoreside employees joined local organizations and community volunteers to clear plastic bags, aluminum and other single-use waste from coastlines and public spaces.

In Miami, Carnival Cruise Line shoreside employees organized a cleanup at Oleta River State Park. Holland America Line team members worked with a local nonprofit at Seattle’s Myrtle Edwards Park along Puget Sound. Costa Cruises employees and their families also partnered with Piantando and Blue-Life on a river project intended to prevent nearly 400 pounds of plastic, aluminum and other debris from reaching broader marine ecosystems.

Carnival Cruise Line crew members separately arranged shoreline cleanups with environmental groups and port partners across the Caribbean, Latin America, Alaska, Florida, Europe and Australia. Carnival Corporation’s 2025 Sustainability Report states that employees held approximately 100 cleanup events at roughly two dozen locations during the year, removing more than 33,000 pounds of debris across North and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and the Pacific.
