Carnival Conquest Rescues Sole Occupant of Disabled Sailing Vessel

Carnival Conquest diverted to assist a disabled sailing vessel on Aug. 26 while the cruise ship was traveling toward Grenada, according to Carnival Cruise Line. The company said the diversion followed a distress relay received from rescue authorities.
After reaching the sailing vessel’s location, Carnival Conquest safely brought its sole occupant aboard, the cruise line said. Carnival did not identify the rescued person or provide any details about the individual.
The rescued person remained in the care of the Carnival Conquest ship team following the rescue, according to the cruise line. Carnival said the cruise ship then continued toward St. George’s, Grenada, as scheduled. The company did not report any change to that scheduled destination in its account of the incident.
