Carnival Conquest passenger charged with child neglect after Bahamas cruise
Court records say Belizaire pleaded not guilty to four charges and denies allegations that four children were left without adult supervision.

Belizaire was arrested after returning from a three-day Carnival cruise to the Bahamas and charged with four counts of child neglect, according to authorities and court records.
An arrest affidavit states that on Sept. 26, the father of one of the children found his 2-month-old daughter and her three siblings inside Belizaire’s home without adult supervision. Investigators alleged that Belizaire had left the four children alone in her apartment before boarding a Carnival ship for the trip.
On Sept. 28, North Miami Beach police and a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office detective went to the Port of Miami. U.S. Customs and Border Protection took Belizaire into custody after she disembarked from Carnival Conquest, then transferred her to North Miami Beach police.
Belizaire’s public defender subsequently filed a written not-guilty plea in Miami-Dade Circuit Court. Her attorney said she denies the allegations. Belizaire was ordered to have no contact with the children while further dependency court proceedings are pending. Authorities said the children were safe and had been placed in foster care.
