Carnival Breeze receives minimum passing CDC sanitation score
The ship scored 86 in a May 14 inspection, four months after earning 100.
Carnival Breeze received 86 points during a May 14 inspection by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Vessel Sanitation Program, according to a published report. The result was the minimum needed to pass and marked a decline from the ship’s perfect 100-point score in January.
The CDC carries out unannounced inspections of cruise ships that visit U.S. ports. Vessels are graded on a 100-point scale, with any result below 86 classified as failing. Reviews cover food preparation, drinking water, pools and hot tubs, medical facilities, ventilation, children’s areas, accommodations and other shared spaces.
Kydon and National Geographic Sea Lion also received 86. Sun Princess, MSC Meraviglia and Amadea each scored 89, while Norwegian Dawn failed with 84 during a March inspection.
Separately, Carnival Celebration was among 42 vessels reported to have earned perfect scores in 2026. Other ships receiving 100 included Icon of the Seas, Celebrity Apex, Disney Dream, Norwegian Viva and Queen Elizabeth.
