Carnival Breeze narrowly passes CDC sanitation inspection
The ship scored 86 in May, while Carnival Jubilee and MSC Seascape each received perfect scores in March.
Every cruise ship in the reviewed group that had been inspected so far in 2026 passed its sanitation check under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s 100-point system. A score below 86 is considered failing.
Carnival Breeze received the minimum passing score of 86 during its May inspection. CDC records cited three dozen violations, including multiple food-safety concerns and bromine residuals that led to the closure of a whirlpool spa. According to a follow-up report, the ship corrected all cited issues within 10 days.
The May result came months after Carnival Breeze earned a perfect CDC score in January.
Carnival Jubilee received a score of 100 during a March inspection despite more than two dozen citations involving handwashing, labeling and food temperatures. The CDC determined that none of those issues warranted a point deduction.
MSC Seascape also earned a perfect score in March. Inspectors recorded 18 violations, but none resulted in points being deducted.
