Carnival Breeze Calls at Progreso as Hurricane Isaías Moves Offshore
The ship docked normally at the Mexican port, where restrictions imposed for smaller vessels did not extend to large ships.

Carnival Breeze arrived and tied up without incident at Progreso’s deepwater pier while Hurricane Isaías remained offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Just over 200 passengers went into Progreso, including visitors who walked along the beach beside the city’s seaside promenade.
The regional harbor master’s office closed the coast to small boats beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday because of the weather conditions. The restriction did not apply to large vessels, allowing the cruise ship’s port call to proceed.
Mexico’s National Weather Service said Isaías strengthened into a Category 2 hurricane over the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday afternoon. Yucatán’s civil protection agency, Procivy, subsequently inspected coastal areas alongside the armed forces, focusing mainly on Celestún, Hunucmá and Progreso. The agency reported that the storm caused no injuries or serious damage in the areas surveyed.
