Carnival appoints Daniela Gargiulo as fleet’s first female Staff Captain
Gargiulo will serve as second-in-command aboard Carnival Adventure, which operates year-round from Sydney.
Carnival Cruise Line has appointed Daniela Gargiulo as the first female Staff Captain across its global fleet. The company marked the appointment during a recent celebration in Sydney.
A ceremony took place aboard Carnival Adventure as the ship returned to Sydney from the South Pacific. During the event, Captain Francesco Bencivenga formally welcomed Gargiulo as his second-in-command.
Gargiulo began her Carnival Cruise Line career as a Deck Cadet in 2013 and progressed through the ranks over 13 years. She joined Carnival Adventure last year, according to the cruise line.
Carnival Adventure sails throughout the year from Sydney. The ship carries more than 2,600 passengers and 1,100 crew members.
