Caribbean cruise promotions rise as 2026 capacity expands

Mainstream cruise operators are offering more Caribbean deals as capacity increases and demand softens, according to Patrick Scholes, a lodging and leisure analyst at Truist Securities. He noted that cruise-industry supply is expected to rise approximately 9% year over year in 2026 following multiple ship launches.

In a late-July research note, Scholes reported a sizable rise in promotional activity for fall 2026 and winter 2026-2027 Caribbean cruises, with Norwegian Cruise Line particularly prominent through its semiannual sale. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has increased its Caribbean deployment by 10% this year compared with 2025, while Norwegian has also repositioned ships to the region.

MSC Cruises is adding further Caribbean capacity after redeploying the more than 6,700-passenger MSC World Europa from the Middle East following the start of the war with Iran in February. According to an MSC news release, the ship will operate Caribbean itineraries during the winter season, replacing the nearly 5,100-passenger MSC Seaview, which will move to South America.

After accounting for promotions that include free add-ons, Scholes estimated that Caribbean net prices were down by low to mid single digits.
