Cabo San Lucas cruise arrivals rise 64.5% in first half of 2026

The port welcomed 789,919 passengers during the six-month period, compared with 480,198 in the same timeframe in 2025.

Cruise ship passenger arrivals in Cabo San Lucas increased 64.5% during the first half of 2026, according to the report. A total of 789,919 passengers arrived over the six months, versus 480,198 during the corresponding period of 2025.

The report says Cabo San Lucas is on pace to exceed 1.5 million cruise visitors by the end of 2026. It also identifies the city as Mexico’s fourth-largest cruise destination, behind Cozumel, Mahahual and Ensenada.

Cruise ships visiting Cabo San Lucas anchor in the bay because the destination does not have a large deep-water pier. Passengers are then transported aboard tender boats from the anchored ships to the Marina. This tender operation brings cruise visitors ashore rather than allowing ships to dock directly at a large pier.
