Brilliant Lady sailing highlights Virgin Voyages’ departures from cruise norms
An eight-night voyage showcased the adults-only line’s restaurant model, food hall, wearable cabin access and included Wi-Fi.

An eight-night sailing aboard Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady highlighted several ways the adults-only cruise line differs from more traditional ships, according to a traveler’s account of the voyage.
Rather than operating a conventional main dining room, Virgin offers a selection of included restaurants, each with its own menu, cuisine and atmosphere. The line also substitutes a food-hall-style venue called The Galley for the traditional buffet. Its stations include Asian noodles, salads, tacos, bento boxes and burgers.
Passengers use wearable wristbands to unlock their cabins and make use of services around the ship instead of carrying key cards. Wi-Fi is also included.
The traveler stayed in a Sea Terrace cabin on Deck 14 and considered its balcony hammock the room’s standout feature. The account also identified Up With a Twist as a notable paid experience. Priced at $50 per person during the sailing, it was recommended as an item to budget for, particularly for passengers interested in lighthearted dinner theater.
