Brazil plans expanded eight-ship cruise season for 2026–27

CLIA Brasil figures point to about 24% more capacity, with roughly 700 port calls scheduled through April 9, 2027.

Brazil’s 2026–27 cruise season is scheduled to include eight ships in regular operation, more than 800,000 passenger berths across their voyages and approximately 700 port calls through April 9, 2027. CLIA Brasil figures indicate capacity will increase about 24% from the previous season. The berth count represents available spaces rather than confirmed bookings.

The planned fleet comprises MSC Virtuosa, MSC Divina, MSC Musica, MSC Splendida, MSC Seaview, Costa Diadema, Costa Serena and Corazul’s Buenavista. Buenavista, which accommodates up to 2,140 guests, is due to begin its first commercial sailing from Santos on October 23. Its program includes departures from Santos and Rio de Janeiro, with calls at Búzios, Ilhabela, Balneário Camboriú and Salvador.

MSC Virtuosa is set to make its Brazilian debut, including seven-night itineraries from Santos to Búzios, Salvador and Maceió. MSC Divina is scheduled for its first regular season in Brazil, while MSC Seaview and MSC Splendida will combine Brazilian ports with destinations in Argentina and Uruguay.

Passengers will be able to begin or end cruises at Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Maceió, Itajaí, Balneário Camboriú and Paranaguá.
