Baja California works with cruise lines on new visitor routes
Officials are considering ways to encourage passengers arriving in Ensenada to explore destinations beyond the port area.

Baja California officials are collaborating with cruise lines to develop routes that would connect passengers with a broader range of tourist offerings. They are also considering a strategy aimed at encouraging more cruise visitors to disembark and travel beyond the immediate port area.
Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, Baja California’s secretary of tourism, said Ensenada is Mexico’s second-busiest cruise port. He reported that the city had welcomed slightly more than one million cruise passengers so far that year.
Current promotional activity includes advertising aboard cruise ships as well as campaigns through Volaris. Those efforts are highlighting developing destinations in the state, including San Quintín.
Badiola also said officials plan to introduce informational bulletins in English and Mandarin as part of an effort to promote Baja California in additional markets.
