Azamara outlines US$80 million fleet refurbishment plan

Azamara Quest will enter a 28-day dry dock in November before heading to Australia and New Zealand.

Azamara plans to invest US$80 million in refurbishing its fleet, with Azamara Quest scheduled to be the first ship upgraded.

Azamara International Chief Sales Officer David Siewers said Quest will enter a 28-day dry dock in November and then sail toward Australia and New Zealand. The work will include new suites added at the top of the ship, without removing existing public spaces, according to Siewers.

The cruise line also plans a 139-night world cruise from Sydney to Copenhagen. Siewers said Azamara will offer three world-cruise products in 2029, including one created specifically for Australian travelers.

Azamara also plans a 21-night cruise that can be booked in separate seven-night and 14-night portions. As part of its curated land-tour program, the company offers safari additions to cruises in Africa, Siewers said.
