At least 14 ocean cruise ships expected to enter service in 2027

At least 14 ocean-going cruise ships are expected to join the global fleet in 2027, according to the report. Together, they are projected to add approximately 27,100 lower berths, representing a 4% increase in overall capacity.
Carnival Festivale, with capacity for 6,400 guests at double occupancy, is scheduled to begin service May 2, 2027, on a 15-day transatlantic voyage from Southampton to Port Canaveral. Norwegian Cruise Line’s planned Norwegian Aura is set to become the company’s longest and largest ship, measuring 1,130 feet.
Explora Journeys plans to add EXPLORA IV as its fourth vessel. The ship is designed for 926 passengers at double occupancy. Orient Express Olympian is planned with 54 suites, five complimentary restaurants and double-occupancy capacity for 108 guests.
Aman’s 600-foot, nine-deck Amangati is scheduled to debut in May 2027 with space for 94 guests. Viking Astrea, described as a sister ship to Viking Libra, is due to start sailing June 1 on a seven-night Mediterranean itinerary from Venice to Civitavecchia.
American Cruise Lines also plans to introduce American Mariner and American Navigator as its fourth and fifth Patriot Class vessels. Each is listed with full-occupancy capacity for 130 passengers.
