Astoria Grande makes inaugural call at West Port Said

The Palau-flagged cruise ship arrived from Kusadasi with 414 passengers and 409 crew members.

Astoria Grande made its first call at Egypt’s West Port Said on 17 August, according to the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The ship arrived from Kusadasi, Turkey, and berthed at the port’s tourist quay.

Passengers were offered local excursions in Port Said, along with trips to Cairo and Giza. The 193-metre-long vessel was scheduled to leave later the same day for Antalya, Turkey.

The economic zone described the visit as part of its efforts to attract more cruise traffic to its Mediterranean and Red Sea ports while improving facilities and services for cruise vessels and their passengers.

Astoria Grande is owned by Goodwin Shipping Ltd. Moscow-registered Shipping Company Aquilon LLC serves as the vessel’s general sales agent.
