Asian Games committee links cruise ship check-in delays to guest-list discrepancies
Organizers said differences between submitted team rosters and the guests who arrived contributed to the reported delays.

The organizing committee for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games said Tuesday that reported delays during cruise ship check-ins were caused in part by inconsistencies between team lists provided in advance and the guests who actually presented themselves. The committee attributed only part of the delays to those discrepancies.
Takaaki Omi, a senior committee official, told media in Nagoya that organizers were handling the situation with care. He said their response included efforts to secure alternative accommodation.
The committee’s explanation places the discrepancies between advance submissions and arriving guests among the factors behind the reported check-in delays. Omi’s comments also indicate that arranging other lodging was part of the organizers’ response to the accommodation issue.
