Andrew Zimmern leads culinary sailing aboard Mitsui Ocean Fuji
The Japan and South Korea itinerary combined destination dining experiences with Japanese-French cuisine at sea.

Andrew Zimmern hosted a group of U.S. guests aboard Mitsui Ocean Fuji during an escorted culinary cruise through Japan and South Korea. The program went beyond sightseeing with visits to markets and restaurants, along with tastings and other food-focused experiences.
On board, guests dined at HOKUSAI Fine Dining, which is overseen by Japanese chef Kiyomi Mikuni. After the meal, Zimmern described the restaurant’s food as the best he had experienced on any cruise line.
HOKUSAI specializes in Japanese-French cuisine prepared with seasonal Japanese ingredients. Its five-course prix fixe dinner includes an amuse-bouche, hors d’oeuvres, Japanese-French-inspired main courses, desserts and petits fours. Vegetarian and gluten-free selections are also available.
Mitsui Ocean Fuji is one of two vessels in the Mitsui Ocean Cruises fleet. Each accommodates 458 guests in all-suite lodging. Both ships previously operated for Seabourn before being acquired by Mitsui Ocean Cruises.
