American Cruise Lines, Natchez Break Ground on Mississippi River Dock
The development is the cruise line’s largest port infrastructure project to date.

American Cruise Lines and the City of Natchez have broken ground on a new cruise dock along the Mississippi River, marking the start of the company’s biggest port infrastructure project to date.
American Cruise Lines President and CEO Charlie Robertson said the company is prepared to work with other communities along the Mississippi River corridor on additional docks and tourism growth.
Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson said the project moves the city closer to achieving its long-term goal of becoming a port where river cruise passengers can start and finish their trips. The city’s vision is for Natchez to join New Orleans and Memphis in serving as an embarkation and disembarkation point for river cruises.
The dock project represents a partnership between the cruise line and Natchez as both seek to expand the city’s role in Mississippi River cruising.
