American Cruise Lines dock project breaks ground in Natchez
The $5 million riverfront investment is intended to establish the Mississippi city as a home port while providing public river access.

Officials broke ground Sept. 16, 2026, on a new American Cruise Lines dock along the Natchez riverfront. The dock is the centerpiece of a $5 million investment by the cruise company.
The project is designed to make Natchez a home port, allowing cruise passengers to begin and end their journeys in the city rather than visiting only as a stop. Under that model, passengers could stay in local hotels and spend time in the city before or after their cruises.
Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson said the development will represent American Cruise Lines’ largest investment on the Mississippi River.
According to city officials, the dock is being designed for use as a public access point and will not be limited to cruise passengers. Residents and other visitors will also be able to use the riverfront facility, strengthening access between downtown Natchez and the river.
Officials had not announced specific projections for jobs associated with the investment or provided a firm timeline for completing the dock.
