Ambience weekend sailing links Tilbury with Amsterdam and Bruges gateways
Ambassador Cruise Line’s adults-only flagship operated a three-night itinerary from Essex, with included dining and paid specialty options.
Ambassador Cruise Line’s flagship, Ambience, sailed a three-night weekend itinerary from the London International Cruise Terminal at Tilbury, Essex, calling at IJmuiden for Amsterdam and Zeebrugge for Bruges.
An account of the voyage said the journey from the terminal’s car-park bag drop through check-in and security to the cabin took about 30 minutes. Ambience is an adults-only ship carrying 1,400 guests, according to the same account.
Meals at the Buckingham Restaurant, Alfresco Grill and Borough Market buffet were included in the cruise fare. Three dining upgrades were also available. The traveler paid £20 for a three-course meal at Saffron and £89 per person for an eight-course Chef’s Table experience that included wines, a cheese board and coffee.
During the IJmuiden call, Ambience offered an excursion to Keukenhof Gardens. The traveler instead spent the day in Haarlem as the flowering season neared its end.
Ambassador offers both mini-cruises and longer voyages for direct booking. The company says prices vary according to itinerary length, cabin category and departure port.
